Jason Beaman, DO, MS, MPH, FAPA

Dr. Jason Beaman currently serves as the Interim Chair of the School of Forensic Sciences. Dr. Beaman completed medical school at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa. He then completed two simultaneous residencies in Psychiatry and Family Medicine at the University of Oklahoma-Tulsa. After residency, he completed a fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He holds board certifications in family medicine, psychiatry, forensic psychiatry and addiction medicine. After fellowship, he obtained a master’s degree in Pharmacology from the University of Florida with an emphasis in forensics and a master’s in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. Beaman served as the Chair of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Oklahoma State University for 8 years before moving to the School of Forensic Sciences. He currently serves as the Assistant Program Director for the OSU Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship. While chair of psychiatry, Dr. Beaman created the Project Blue Streets Task Force which established a city-wide protocol for care of mental health patients and testified against Johnson & Johnson in the State of Oklahoma opioid litigation. He is active in research in the areas of criminal behavior, the intersection of methamphetamine and violence, and epidemiology of Adverse Childhood Experiences.
