Humayun Chaudhry, DO, MACP
Humayun “Hank” Chaudhry, DO, MS, MACP, FRCP has been the President and CEO of the Federation of State Medical Boards since October 2009. The FSMB represents all the state medical licensing boards in the United States and co-manages the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) with the National Board of Medical Examiners along with maintaining a Federation Credentials Verification Service (FCVS) for physicians and physician assistants. Dr. Chaudhry served as Chair of the International Association of Medical Regulatory Authorities (IAMRA), which represents more than 118 member organizations in more than 48 nations, from 2016-2018.
A graduate of New York University, New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Harvard School of Public Health, Dr. Chaudhry completed an internship at St. Barnabas Hospital and an ACGME-accredited residency in Internal Medicine at NYU-Winthrop Hospital, where he was Chief Medical Resident. Dr. Chaudhry was an Assistant Dean and Chair of Medicine at NYITCOM from 2001-2007 and spent 14 years with the United States Air Force Reserve, rising to the rank of Major. He also served as a Flight Surgeon attached to the 732nd Airlift Squadron at McGuire Air Force Base. Dr. Chaudhry is the author or co-author of more than 75 peer-reviewed medical journal articles and co-author of two books: Fundamentals of Clinical Medicine, 4th edition and Medical Licensing and Discipline in America.
