Biologics for the Treatment of Asthma and the Critical Role of Primary Care in Improving Patient Outcomes

OAFP-Sat

This presentation will focus on the significant role that family medicine providers play in the management of patients with asthma, how to recognize uncontrolled disease, and the identification of patients who may benefit from a referral to a specialist and treatment with biologic therapy. Evidence on the safety and efficacy of biologics, along with the considerations that go into selecting optimal therapy for each individual patient, will be highlighted via case study patients to both increase knowledge and applicability in practice.
