Executive Director, Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision
Lyle Kelsey is the Executive Director of the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision. This state regulatory agency is responsible for licensing and regulating approximately 10,000 medical doctors and an additional 12,000 licensees in 12 related health professions. He serves as Executive Director for the Oklahoma Board of Podiatric Examiners and the Oklahoma Board of Licensed Perfusionist Examiners as well.
Prior to his current position, he was Associate Director of the Oklahoma State Medical Association for 18 years. Mr. Kelsey obtained an undergraduate degree in business management from Oklahoma Christian University and a master’s degree in business from the University of Central Oklahoma. He is adjunct faculty in the MBA Department of Oklahoma Christian University in HealthCare and Management. Professionally, he has earned the national designations of Certified Association Executive (CAE) in 1992 and Certified Medical Board Executive (CMBE) in 2002. He previously served on the Editorial Committee of the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) for 6 years, and as president of Administrators in Medicine (AIM) (2006-08). He has had the distinguished privilege to serve on the FSMB Board of Directors (2013-2015) and is currently serving a term from 2022 through 2024. Mr. Kelsey served in the U. S. Army in 1968-69 and was Honorably Discharged.
