Thomas Gilchrist graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice in 2005 and both a Master’s Degree in Computer and Information Sciences and a Graduate Certificate in Computer Forensics in 2009. Prior to this, in 2008, he was hired by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Birmingham Division full-time as an Operational Support Technician (OST). Since 2015, he has worked as a Computer Scientist-Field Operations (CS-FO) assigned to the FBI Oklahoma City Division. In this capacity, CS Gilchrist provides technical investigative assistance to law enforcement in the form of incident response and evidence collection, open source intelligence gathering, malware and ransomware analysis, cyber intrusion investigations, network forensic analysis, and most recently cryptocurrency analysis and seizure. Starting in 2018, CS Gilchrist works as adjunct faculty at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) Forensic Science Institute teaching courses in network forensics and cybersecurity.
