Susan Lucot, MSN, RN, MLT (ASCP), CPHRM; Senior Patient Safety and Risk Consultant
Ms. Lucot began her healthcare career over 35 years ago. Susan worked as a medical laboratory technician rotating through all the clinical departments including hematology, blood bank, chemistry, and bone marrow processing which included skills in flow cytometry, gene therapy, and stem cell transplantation.
Later in her career, Susan became a nurse and a nurse educator. Her nursing background includes medical-surgical, telemetry, and home health. Ms. Lucot has taught classroom and clinical nursing skills utilizing simulation and patient experiences. She assisted in developing commercial nursing curricula, as well as demonstrating its use while working at the Peter M. Winter Institute for Simulation Education and Research (WISER) Center part of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC).
Since 2011, Ms. Lucot has worked in medical malpractice insurance as a simulation educator, patient safety manager, and risk consultant.
